Accepting & Managing Assignments
When your administrator assigns you to a game, it appears on your My Schedule page. Each assignment needs to be confirmed by you, and ASM tracks which version of the game details you've acknowledged.
Viewing Your Assignments
Go to My Schedule from the side menu. You can switch between two views using the toggle at the top of the page:
- List view — a paginated card list of your assignments, sortable and filterable
- Calendar view — a month or week layout showing your games on their dates
Each game card shows:
- Date and time
- League name, event type (game, playoff, exhibition, practice), and game number
- Location (park/venue with a link to the location page)
- Teams playing (can be hidden via view options)
- Your position (e.g., Referee, Umpire, Linesman) and the other officials assigned
- Your game fee and any adjustments/fines
- Game comments from your administrator
By default, the page shows assignments across All Groups - so you can see everything in one place. If you want to focus on a specific group, use the dropdown at the top to filter.
Assignment Statuses
Each game card has a colored left border indicating its status:
- New (green) — you've been assigned to this game and haven't confirmed yet
- Changed (orange) — something about the game changed since you last confirmed (date, location, position, fees, etc.). Fields that changed are highlighted in orange.
- Removed / Cancelled (red) — you were removed from the game, or the game was cancelled
- Accepted (grey) — you've confirmed the latest version. Everything is up to date.
The Color Legend button at the top-right of the page explains these statuses.
Confirming Assignments
When a game shows as New or Changed, a green Confirm button appears:
- Review the game details on the card
- Click Confirm
- The card updates to show Accepted with a grey border
Confirming tells your administrator that you've seen and acknowledged the assignment. If the game details change again later (e.g., the time or location is updated), the card will return to the Changed state and you'll need to confirm again.
Confirming Removals and Cancellations
If you were removed from a game or a game was cancelled, you'll see a red Confirm Removal button. Clicking it acknowledges the change and clears it from your active view (unless you have "Show Removed Events" enabled in view options).
Note: You cannot confirm events that are in the past.
Booking Off a Game
If your group allows it, you can book off (withdraw from) an assigned game:
- Find the game on your schedule
- Click the Bookoff button (shown in red outline)
- Enter a reason for booking off in the dialog that appears
- Click Submit
After submitting, ASM will offer you the option to adjust your availability for that date. It's strongly recommended to do this - otherwise your administrator may see you as available and reassign you to another game on the same day.
Your administrator will see the bookoff and your reason, and can reassign the position.
Important: The bookoff button is only available if your group has enabled self-service bookoffs, and only if you're within the allowed window. For example, if your group requires 48 hours notice, the bookoff button will disappear once you're inside that window. After that, contact your administrator directly.
Adding a Comment
Every game card has a Comment button at the bottom. Use this to send a note to your administrator about the game - for example, if you'll be running late or have a question about the location.
- Click Comment
- Type your message
- Click Submit
If you've already left a comment, a blue badge appears on the Comment button.
Filtering and Sorting
The toolbar gives you several ways to narrow down your schedule:
- Date range — filter to a specific date window (list view only)
- Filters — filter by Schedule ID, Location, League, Home/Away Team, or Game Comment
- Sort — change the sort order (list view only)
On mobile, tap the Filters button to open the filter panel.
View Options
Click the settings icon to toggle display preferences:
- Group Locations — groups games at the same venue on the same day together
- Hide Teams — removes team names from the cards
- Show Archived Groups — includes inactive groups in the group selector
- Show Deleted Events — shows games that were deleted by the administrator
- Show Schedule ID — displays the internal schedule ID on each card
- Show Removed Events — shows games you were removed from (hidden by default after confirming removal)
What the Changed Details Look Like
When a game enters the Changed state, ASM highlights exactly what changed in orange:
- Date/time changed — the date appears in orange
- Location changed — the venue name appears in orange
- Team changed — the team name appears in orange
- Position changed — the position row appears in orange
- Fee adjustment added — the adjustment amount appears in orange
This makes it easy to see what's different before you confirm.
