Group Settings

Group settings control how your ASM group operates - from basic info to notification preferences and scheduling behavior. Only administrators can access these settings.

Accessing Group Settings

  1. Go to SettingsGroup from the side menu
  2. You'll see the available configuration options for your group

General Settings

Group Information

  • Group Name - the name that appears to all members
  • Sport Type - the sport your group manages (e.g., hockey, baseball, soccer)
  • Region - your geographic area or league

Contact Information

  • Admin Contact Email - the email members see when they need to reach an administrator
  • Admin Contact Phone - optional phone number for urgent issues

Notifications

Control which email notifications your group sends to members:

  • New assignment notifications - alert members when they're assigned to a game
  • Schedule change notifications - notify affected members when a game is moved or cancelled
  • Availability reminders - remind members to submit availability before the due date

Tip: Enabling availability reminders reduces the number of members you have to chase down manually.

Scheduling Preferences

These settings affect how the scheduling workflow behaves:

  • Draft visibility - whether members can see draft (unpublished) assignments
  • Auto-notifications - whether assigning a member automatically sends them an email, or if you prefer to publish in bulk and notify everyone at once

Tips

  • Turn on availability reminders - they save you time chasing members
  • Review your group settings at the start of each season to make sure everything is current
  • Consider whether members should see draft assignments - some groups prefer to keep drafts private until they publish, while others like the transparency
